Excellent design characterizes la strada's top-of-the-range series. The flagship Nova EB received the red dot Design Award 2020 for its successful exterior design. The new sister model, Nova M, has the same design, but is shorter. Here too, la strada has opted for an extremely durable monocoque construction made of glass fiber-reinforced plastic. This ensures good insulation, reliable sealing, and elegant lines. A fitted awning, tinted windows, and even painted ventilation grilles characterize the elegant design. The popular floor plan of the Nova M, on the other hand, has hardly changed. However, the living space benefits significantly from the 10 centimeters of additional overall length compared to the previous model. The Nova M is based on the Mercedes Sprinter with rear-wheel drive. From four-wheel-drive, automatic transmission, and numerous assistance systems to 127 upholstery fabrics, partial leather, and leather variants, the equipment list of the compact land yacht leaves nothing to be desired. The new la strada Nova M will be on display for the first time at the Caravan Salon trade fair in Düsseldorf. From September 4 to 13, la strada looks forward to welcoming interested visitors in Hall 15 at Stand C 26 and in Hall 5 at Stand A 05.
The developers drew clear lines when designing the GRP body of the new Nova. As few distracting bars, flaps, handles, or hinges as possible should be visible. The clean lines of the exterior design earned the flagship Nova EB the red dot Design Award 2020. The 53-centimeter shorter GRP monocoque cabin of the smaller Nova M uses essentially the same exterior design. The only differences between the Nova M and its predecessor are the shorter overall length, the shorter wheelbase, and the two small windows on the sides of the roof hood.
The new Nova M features the same three-berth layout as its predecessor. The fold-down bed above the cab offers space for two people and the usual sleeping comfort of the Froli disc spring system, measuring 2.05 meters by 1.40 meters. The transverse bed in the rear is very practical for an afternoon nap or a guest. It also has a generous length of 2.05 meters, a width of 97 centimeters, and the Froli disc spring system.
In front of the rear bed is a wardrobe with space for both folded clothes and clothes hangers. The bathroom opposite has a toilet, a standard window, and cupboards for toiletries. When the sink is folded up, there is a spacious shower area separated by a foldable plastic shower screen.
The kitchen is located in the center of the Nova M and features a two-burner stove with piezo ignition and a sturdy cast-iron pot holder. Right next to it is the spacious sink. The additional work surface that can be pulled out from under the wardrobe is very useful. Two large pull-out drawers, a cutlery drawer, an open shelf, and two wall cabinets provide storage for cooking utensils. Ingredients can be stored in an 80-liter refrigerator with automatic energy selection.
The L-shaped seating area is located directly opposite the kitchen and the now wider entrance door. The Nova M has four seats secured with three-point seat belts for driving. Two seats on the bench are secured with three-point seat belts. The window seat also has an Isofix attachment for child seats with top tether. The SKA comfort seats with pneumatic lumbar support and seat heating are equally comfortable when driving and when relaxing. With full leather upholstery, seat climate control is even available for this.
The rear garage of the Nova M is accessible via two side flaps with push-to-open locks. There is plenty of space here for bulky luggage. The payload also offers sufficient scope for this. The Nova M is built as standard with a gross vehicle weight of 4.1 tons and a generous payload of 920 kilograms. For just two people, a reduced-load 3.5-ton version with a payload of 320 kilograms can also be ordered on special request.
With a total length of 6.46 meters and a width of 2.15 meters, combined with a short wheelbase of 3.66 meters, the Nova M is extremely maneuverable. The optional switchable four-wheel-drive does not turn the Landyacht into an expedition vehicle, but together with the raised chassis and off-road tyres, it does give you more freedom on unpaved roads.
The base price of the la strada Nova M with a 120 kW (163 hp) engine is €98,930. In addition to ABS, ASR, ESP, daytime running lights, crosswind assist, and central locking for the cab, the standard equipment also includes an insulated and heated waste water tank, a bathroom window, and a matching awning. With the comfort package, technology package 1, pre-delivery inspection, TÜV, gas inspection, and delivery inspection, the price of the Nova M is €105,499. Extensive optional extras are also available.
