La strada Fahrzeugbau GmbH was founded in 1986 by two campervan enthusiasts and has since developed into a premium German manufacturer of motorhomes.
At our headquarters in Echzell, Hesse, a well-coordinated team of experts builds first-class motorhomes that are renowned for their sophisticated technology, high-quality workmanship, and individual design. Through a Europe-wide network of qualified trading partners, we offer advice, service, and customer support in many countries – for people who love to travel, for travellers who rely on us.

Starting out as a small family business, our motorhome manufacturer has developed into a small-series manufacturer operating throughout Europe. Over its long history, la strada has gained experience with almost all common small vans. The first conversion was carried out in 1986 based on the Volkswagen T3. Shortly afterwards, a series based on the Mercedes MB 100 was created. This was followed by models from Citroën, Ford, Renault, and Mercedes Vito. In the 1980s and 1990s, experiments were also carried out with small vans from Asian brands.
A milestone in la strada's history was the introduction of the la strada NOVA in 2000. This marked the first time our company ventured beyond the realm of van conversions. The flagship models in the la strada range are semi-integrated motorhomes. Here, a completely new superstructure is placed on the ladder frame chassis of the Mercedes Sprinter, a monocoque cabin which is made from one single piece of glass fibre reinforced plastic (GRP). At the same time, the NOVA laid the foundation for the beginning of the company's focus on the premium segment, which is now consistently reflected in all models.

la strada has been one of the leading manufacturers in its industry for many years. The NOVA EB has been awarded the prestigious Red Dot Design Award – proof of its successful combination of function, form, and manufacturing quality.
In addition, la strada received the LUPO 2025 – the coveted supplier and partnership award from the German Caravaning Trade Association – at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf. With this award, the jury recognized la strada as an outstanding manufacturer and partner to the specialist trade.

Corporate governance
La strada Fahrzeugbau GmbH is represented by its shareholders Andreas Dalchow and Marco Lange.
Andreas Dalchow shaped the company from the very beginning with great dedication. Marco Lange joined the company as managing director in 2005, having previously held a leading position in the motorhome industry for many years. Together with the team, he developed la strada in a consistent and forward-looking manner.
Today, around 50 employees work at the headquarters in Echzell on the development, production, and distribution of premium motorhomes. Aninternational partner networkwith 19 contractual partners in Germany, 29 in the EU, and additional partners outside Europe ensures that la strada customers receive expert support internationally.
