At the CARAVAN SALON 2026 in Düsseldorf, la strada will unveil the new AVANTI R. The new model (starting with the 2027 model year), based on the Fiat Ducato, expands the AVANTI lineup with an unconventional floor plan designed specifically for two travelers. At the same time, la strada is kicking off the 2027 season with numerous improvements in technology and features.
AVANTI R: A Spacious Lounge Meets a Lift-Up Bed
The centerpiece of the 6.36-meter-long AVANTI R is the large lounge seating area in the rear. During the day, this area serves as a spacious living space, while in the evening, at the push of a button, a 202 × 192 cm longitudinal lift-up bed lowers from the ceiling. The kitchen and bathroom are accessible at all times, and the swivel cab seats create an additional spot for breakfast when needed.
By omitting a traditional bench in the front living area, additional space is created for the bathroom. Instead of a shower curtain, a lightweight folding door with a frosted-glass look separates the shower area.
The new floor plan also has a special feature for active travelers: E-bikes can be transported safely inside the vehicle.
New Technology and More Standard Features
The AVANTI R is based on the Fiat Ducato with at least 140 PS and a standard automatic transmission. Like all la strada models from the 2027 season, it meets the requirements of the European General Safety Regulation II (GSR II) and is therefore equipped with numerous modern driver-assistance and safety systems.
Many of the AVANTI R’s new features will also be introduced in the other la strada models for the 2027 model year. These include compressor refrigerators as standard equipment, a new digital touchscreen control panel, and the redesigned kitchen with a mineral-based countertop and indirect lighting.
If you want to do away with gas entirely, you can choose the AVANTI R with the AVANTI Edition 40 .
The new AVANTI R and other models from the AVANTI, REGENT, and NOVA series are on display at the CARAVAN SALON Düsseldorf in Hall 15, Booth D25 through September 6, 2026.
