At the CARAVAN SALON in Düsseldorf, which begins in a few days, la strada will be presenting its new la strada Regent EB model for the first time in Hall 15, Stand D 26. The new luxury camper van based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter combines the modern assistance systems of the base vehicle with high-quality furniture in the cleverly proportioned living area. The highlight of the floor plan is two single beds measuring 2.05 and 1.85 meters in length, which offer even tall travellers a high level of sleeping comfort. The variable rear storage space, a spacious bathroom, and a large refrigerator complement the high-quality features of the Regent EB.
The driving comfort of the current Mercedes Benz Sprinter is among the best the motorhome industry has to offer. Numerous assistance systems, such as voice control, adaptive cruise control, 360-degree surround view rearview camera, crosswind assist, lane departure warning system, high beam and blind spot assist, fatigue warning system, traffic sign recognition, and rain sensor make driving the new la strada Regent EB a relaxed pleasure. The 3.5-ton total weight of the la strada Regent EB is powered on the rear axle by the latest Euro VI-E CDI engines with 125 kW/170 hp or 140 kW/190 hp. The optional four-wheel-drive version of the Regent EB relies on the new Mercedes Benz Torque on Demand four-wheel-drive system from the Sprinter and is only available with a minimum gross vehicle weight of 4.1 tons.
With a total length of 6.97 meters, the la strada Regent EB is 1.04 meters longer than its little brother, the Regent S. This translates into significantly more living space and comfort. Although the seating area and kitchen unit are identical in both models, the EB boasts a larger bathroom, more storage cupboards, and two longitudinally mounted single beds. Measuring 2.05 and 1.85 meters in length, these beds offer a high level of sleeping comfort even for tall travellers. The FROLI disc spring system and high-quality cold foam mattresses also contribute to this.
The beds are both comfortable and versatile. Underneath the single beds are large pull-out drawers for bed linen, towels, or clothing, as well as a wardrobe for clothes on hangers. Underneath the rear section is a large storage space, which is accessible both from the interior via a flap and from the outside via the large double doors of the body. If required, the single beds can be joined together to form a large sleeping area. If more storage space is required, the rear section of the beds can be folded up, revealing a generous storage space extending to the ceiling of the motorhome. This provides enough space for two bicycles. The rear storage space under the beds also accommodates the Regent EB's on-board technology, including heating, batteries, on-board electrical system, and two 11-kilogram gas bottles.
In the middle section of the Regent EB, there is a spacious absorption refrigerator with a capacity of 133 liters and automatic energy selection on the driver's side. The refrigerator door, which can be opened from both sides, is particularly practical. This means that the contents are just as easy to reach from the bed as from the kitchen. Opposite is the kitchen and a large wardrobe for clothes on hangers, as well as several deep pull-out drawers for cooking utensils. The kitchen unit has a two-burner stove with piezo ignition and a solid cast-iron pot holder. The stove and the spacious sink are made of stainless steel in a continuous design, making them easy to clean.
The seating area is located in the front of the vehicle and consists of a bench with variable seating positions and swivel cab seats. The bench seat is equipped with two three-point seat belts. The window seat has an Isofix mount for child seats. There is generous headroom above the cab seats because the storage compartment above the cockpit has a hinged floor. This is also where the table is stored during the journey. The interior is available in a combination of over 125 fabric and leather variants.
The bathroom opposite opens with two space-saving hinged doors. A toilet, sink, and storage cabinets are available for daily hygiene. The hand shower on the sink can be pulled out and attached to a shower rail. To take a shower, the sink is folded down and the window and sink are covered with a curtain. A foldable plexiglass door creates a cubicle with enough space for showering. If necessary, a curtain can also be used to separate the living area with seating and kitchen from the sleeping area with bathroom and bed.
The la strada Regent EB is a comfortable panel van for discerning users. With a base price of €92,780, it combines maximum driving comfort with equally high standards of living and sleeping comfort and high-quality workmanship.
