For some time, the letter H had disappeared from the Avanti model series produced by la strada Fahrzeugbau GmbH. Now, the Hessian company is presenting a completely new Avanti H, which no longer has much in common with its predecessor. The letter H stands for both "lift-up bed" and "rear bathroom." These two features define the spacious and, for a vehicle measuring just 5.99 meters in length, very comfortable layout of the new Avanti H. The loft bed frees up a lot of space on the lower level, which benefits the kitchen and cupboards. The transversely installed rear bathroom has a separate shower and plenty of space.
Hardly any other panel van motorhome has such a spacious bathroom as the new la strada Avanti H. Installed transversely in the rear, the bathroom can make use of the full width of the vehicle. Behind the double doors, the bathroom is equipped with a toilet, washbasin, plenty of storage space for toiletries, and a full-size shower. travellers can enjoy a restful night's sleep on the upper level of the Avanti H, thanks to a Froli disc spring system and a 200 x 130 cm cold foam mattress. During the day, the bed is folded up under the ceiling, freeing up the space above the seating area.
Isofix and firm upholstery
The Avanti H seating area features a further improved bench seat, which will be used in all Avanti models from model year 2018 onwards. It has wider headrests, firmer upholstery and, above all, attachment points for an Isofix child seat. The backrest and seat can be locked in different positions. The convex shape of the seat backrest, which adapts to the back, ensures comfortable seating in all positions. The bench seat is equipped with two three-point seat belts. In living mode, the swivel cab seats serve as armchairs.
Ample storage space
The Avanti H has plenty of space for cupboards. To the left of the bathroom is a large cupboard for folded clothing. Below it are two large pull-out shelves. To the right is a cupboard for clothes on hangers, which can also be fitted with shelves for folded clothing. On the passenger side are cupboards, storage compartments, and pull-out shelves for bulky kitchen utensils and the optional TV. Opposite, at a back-friendly height, a large slim tower refrigerator is waiting to be filled with delicacies from faraway countries. With the removable 10-liter freezer compartment removed, there is a maximum of 138 liters of refrigeration space to fill. That's quite impressive for a panel van. In front of the refrigerator is another row of four large pull-out drawers. And that's not all. Additional storage space is provided by the compartments in the double floor, which are available in various sizes and run the entire length of the living area floor from the driver's cab to the rear bathroom.
Due to the layout of the bathroom, the rear storage space is not as large as in other Avanti models. Nevertheless, the la strada developers have managed to incorporate storage options here as well. On the left, foldable intermediate shelves create several variable storage compartments. If necessary, the table can also be stored here while driving. The double floor under the bathroom easily accommodates smaller camping furniture, a water hose, leveling wedges, or tools. If you want to make full use of the approximately 20 centimeters between the rear wall of the bathroom and the rear doors, you can order the optional lashing system for the rear wall of the bathroom.
Easily accessible gas bottles
The view of the kitchen unit opposite the seating area is unusual. Where large pull-out drawers for pots and pans would normally be located, there is only one wide drawer for cutlery and cooking utensils. The large wooden surface underneath is the back wall of the gas locker. This is now positioned directly behind the sliding door under the stove. This makes it easy to reach from the outside and facilitates the changing of gas bottles. Otherwise, the kitchen has a three-burner gas stove with electric ignition and a stainless steel sink. The highlight of the kitchen is two additional work surfaces. One can be folded up on the left side of the kitchen unit as needed, while the other can be pulled out of the storage cabinet on the right. There is even room in the kitchen for a small pull-out spice rack.
The la strada Avanti H impresses with its generous space, compact dimensions, and high-quality workmanship. For two people, the la strada Avanti H is a comfortable and reliable vacation companion.
