Owners of the LA STRADA Avanti C don't have to compromise. The panel van has everything a motorhome for two people needs. It even has a full-size shower with plastic door, a heated double floor, and storage space for two bikes or bulky luggage. The C in the name therefore stands for comfort, plenty of space, and a wealth of features. All this comes with the excellent build quality that is standard for la strada. The Avanti C is based on the 6.36-meter-long version of the Fiat Ducato with a high roof. Engines with 140 to 180 horsepower propel the motorhome forward at a brisk pace.
The C has a separate, fully equipped shower. A plastic door separates the shower area from the rest of the bathroom. A ceramic toilet, sink, and storage space for toiletries are also included in the bathroom, which is accessed via a space-saving sliding door. The wide rear bed in the Avanti C is also very comfortable. This is ensured by a Froli disc spring system and two cold foam mattresses, which together form a double bed measuring 197 by 142 centimeters.
Ample storage space
The rear storage space is located under the bed and can be accessed both from the interior via a flap and from the exterior via the large double doors of the body. This space can accommodate the Avanti C's on-board technology, including the heating system, batteries, on-board electrical system, and two 11-kilogram gas bottles, as well as additional luggage. The special feature of the Avanti C storage space is that the rear section of the rear bed can be folded up across the entire width of the vehicle. This creates a generous storage space extending up to the ceiling of the motorhome. The depth is sufficient to store two bicycles crosswise in the rear.
Comfortable seating area for four
The seating area of the Avanti C, located in the front of the vehicle, is also comfortable. By turning the cab seats, a seating area for up to 4 people is created. In the cab, new upholstery is pulled over the standard seats of the Fiat Ducato. Reinforcements and inserts provide greater strength, significantly improved ergonomics, and more lateral support. The plastic armrests of the cab seats are also covered with a comfortable fabric cover. The bench seat in the semi-dinette is equipped with two three-point seat belts and an Isofix attachment with top tether at the window seat. The rear bench and seat surface can be adjusted: with the backrest upright for driving and with the backrest reclined and the seat surface moved forward for living. The convex shape of the seat backrest, which adapts to the back, together with the height-adjustable headrests, ensures comfortable seating in all positions.
Heated double floor
A rare comfort feature in the panel van motorhome class is the heated double floor. In the living area, it scores points with space for tools, shoes, and other utensils. This is ensured by different sized hatches in the floor, through which the double floor is accessible from above. When the sliding door is open, a large drawer slides out from under the kitchen unit, which can be used as storage space and an outdoor table. The warm air from the heating system is directed through the double floor, ensuring warm feet even on cold days. Additional storage space for clothing can be found in the ceiling cabinets above the rear bed and the wardrobe next to the refrigerator, while the large storage compartment above the driver's cab can accommodate additional luggage.
Comfortable kitchen
The kitchenette is located in the middle section of the Avanti C. The recessed 2-burner gas stove has an electric igniter, eliminating the need for matches or lighters. A fold-out work surface significantly expands the range of motion in the kitchen. There is also an 80-liter refrigerator with automatic energy selection (AES) on board, which is conveniently located next to the kitchenette. The pull-out shelves under the stove and sink provide storage space for pots and pans. The mosquito screen for the large sliding door ensures that meals are not disturbed by uninvited guests. It can be easily closed with one hand and closes flush with the door. This means that mosquitoes and other pests don't stand a chance. At the same time, cooking fumes can escape through the open sliding door.
The la strada Avanti C combines the amenities of a much larger motorhome with the flexibility of a panel van. It would be difficult to accommodate more comfort for two people in a panel van.
