For a while, the letter H was not present within the Avanti product range of la strada Fahrzeugbau GmbH. For the new season, the Hessian manufacturer introduces a completely new Avanti H that has nothing in common with the old layout. The letter H stand for the German words “Hubbett”, drop down bed, and “Heckbad”, rear bathroom. These two features characterize the roomy and comfortable 5,99m Avanti H. The drop down bed gives room to the seating group and enables plenty storage compartments close to the kitchen. The bathroom is located at the rear end of the van and features a separated shower as well as ample space.
Not many van conversions do come with such a large bathroom as the Avanti H. As the unit is located crosswise at the rear of the vehicle it takes advantage of the entire width of the van. Behind the double wing door one will find the toilet, the washing basin, generous storage compartments for sanitary articles and of course an ample, separated shower. The passengers will very much enjoy their well-deserved sleep on the „upper floor“ of the Avanti H! The appreciated Froli support system and a 200 x 130 cm big cold foam mattress provide the entreated comfort and rest. In the daytime the bed gets fold up under the ceiling and gives room to the seating group.
Isofix and firm upholstery
For the season 2018, la strada introduces a new seating bench in all Avanti models including the Avanti H as a matter of course. The bench features wider head rests, a firmer upholstery and especially the Isofix lower anchor and top tether system for a child car seat. The backrest and the seating surface are adjustable in different positions and the convex shape of the backrest guarantees high comfort. Security while driving is given by two safety seat belts and when turned around, the two cabin seats are part of the living area.
Plenty storage possibilities
The Avanti H offers plenty compartments. A large cabinet for clothes is located on the left side of the bathroom. Two generous drawers are positioned underneath. A wardrobe with adjustable shelves can be found on the passenger side, as well as numerous cupboards, compartments and drawers for bulky kitchen utensils. The optional TV flat screen will also be fixed there if ordered, right on the opposite of the refrigerator a 138l Slim Tower Design fridge is mounted in comfortable height! Respectable for a van conversion! The 10l freezing compartment can be taken out if necessary and enlarges the capacity of the refrigerator. Between the fridge and the seating bench, four large drawers will delight the users and furthermore, the complex double floor offers even more storage capacities on the total length of the van.
Due to the rear bathroom of the Avanti H, the garage obviously is smaller than in other layouts. Nevertheless, the la strada developers were able to place storage space even there. On the left of the bathroom, one will enjoy several storage possibilities while adjusting foldable shelves. Even a table or several crates can be stored there. Under the bathroom, in the double floor, small camp chairs or a table easily find space, as well as a garden hose, tools or levelling blocks. Should one want to take advantage of the 20 cm between the bathroom back wall and the rear van doors, an optional fastening system is available in order to fasten goods vertically.
Gas bottles easy to reach
The kitchen furniture looks quite unusual: instead of numerous large drawers for pans and pots, only one wide cutlery-drawer can be found. The wooden panel underneath is the back wall of the gas compartment which is located right behind the sliding door, under the hob. This position makes the compartment accessible and eases the change of a gas bottle.
Otherwise, the kitchen features a 3-flame hob with electrical piezo ignition and a stainless-steel sink. Two additional working surfaces are a further highlight of the kitchen: one is integrated in the left side of the furniture and can be lifted up when necessary, while the other can be slid out like a drawer between the compartments on the right side of the kitchen. A small cabinet for spices is quite useful as well.
The la strada Avanti H convinces with generous spaces, compact dimensions and high manufacturing quality. The Avanti H is a comfortable and reliable companion for two people!
