Echzell/Stuttgart, 11th January 2019 – la strada Fahrzeugbau GmbH proudly presents the 4WD version of the compact Regent S model on the CMT fair starting tomorrow in Stuttgart. The solidly built furniture, the all times distinctive mark of the German Motorhome manufacturer, supplements the new assistant systems and the electronic four-wheel-drive 4ETS from Mercedes Benz. This combination generates the sturdy but also comfortable van conversion for adventures offside tarmacked roads. The new Regent S 4WD will be introduced on the CMT 2019 in Stuttgart on the la strada stand C31 in hall 7.
The 4WD system of the Regent S built on the new Mercedes Sprinter is based upon the electronic traction system 4ETS from Mercedes Benz. This 4WD version is insertable. The activation is carried on when the engine runs while stationary or at low speed up to 10km/h. The drive line comes variably to pass at the rate of 35:65 on the front and rear axle. Should one or several wheels loose traction on slippery ground, the 4ETS will automatically brake the wheelspin with short pulses and herewith increases to the same degree the driving torque on the wheels with good traction. This automatic braking intervention can simulate the effect of up to three differentials: the longitudinal lock, the rear axle and the front axle lock. The bodywork of the Regent S 4WD gets elevated by 110mm in the front and 80mm in the rear. The all-wheel-drive version of the Regent S is offered with the newest Euro VI-D engines and available with the 120KW/163HP as well 140KW/190HP machines.
Together with the Austrian 4WD specialist Oberaigner, la strada also upgrades the Regent 4x4 models for tougher off-road conditions. In order to do so, the selectable all-wheel-drive system gets modified into a permanent one. Off-road gear reduction, mechanically switchable longitudinal and transverse differential locks and the ideal all-terrain tyres are available.
Furthermore the la strada Regent S 4WD scores with several new assistant systems of the Mercedes Sprinter. Voice control command, adaptive cruise control and a 360 degree all-round view camera are obtainable within different packages for the base vehicle. Crosswind assist intervention, active lane keeping assist, high-beam and blind spot assists were already offered for the prior model and of course remain available.
The living space of the Regent S 4WD is conceived for two people. Well thought ergonomics, high sleeping comfort, variable storage room and high-end materials distinguish the van.
Compact dimensions, solid furniture and robust all-wheel technology make the la strada Regent S 4x4 a reliable travel companion in nearly every terrain. The German retail price of the new Regent S 4WD is 80.265 Euro.
