The CARAVAN SALON will begin in just a few days and la strada is keen to present its new model, the la strada Regent EB, in hall 15 on stand D26. The new comfort van based on Mercedes Sprinter combines the modern assistance systems of the base vehicle with the high-quality conversion of a clever proportioned superstructure. The highlight of this new layout are the two single beds with a length of 2,05 and 1,85m which offer high sleeping comfort even to tall travelers. A convertible rear storage room, a large bathroom and a big refrigerator do complement the high-end equipment of the Regent EB.
The driving comfort of the current Mercedes Benz Sprinter belongs to the best the Motorhome industry has to offer. Numerous assistant systems, such as voice-command, active distance control system, 360 degrees all-round view camera, crosswind assist intervention, active lane keeping assist, high beam and blind spot assist, driver fatigue detector, traffic sign recognition and rain sensor, which turn the ride with the la strada Regent EB to relaxing pleasure. The newest Euro VI E CDI engines with either 125KW/ 170HP or 140KW/ 190 HP do power the rear axle of the 3,5t la strada Regent EB. The optional four-wheel-drive version relies on the new Mercedes Benz Torque on Demand Four-Wheel-Drive of the Sprinter and is available with a total weight of at least 4,1t.
The la strada Regent EB is 6,97m long, which makes him 1,04m taller than his little brother, the Regent S. This has a massive impact on the living space and comfort. Even though the seating group and the kitchen block of both layouts remain the same, the Regent EB shows off with a larger bathroom, more storage compartments and two single beds mounted alongside. With a length of 2,05 and 1,85m, the beds offer high sleeping comfort even to tall travelers. The well-being is enhanced by the FROLI cup-spring-system and the top-quality cold-foam mattress.
The beds are comfortable as well as variable. Under the single beds one will enjoy large drawers for bed linen, towels or clothes as well as a wardrobe with hangers. The rear storage room is located under the rear part of the beds and is accessible through a trap door from the inside as well as from the exterior back doors. If requested, the two single beds can easily get transformed into one large double bed. And if an even larger storage room in the back is necessary, the rear part of the beds can be lifted up to enlarge loading space up to the roof. This additional space offers enough place to load two bicycles. The on-board technique of the Regent EB is also located in the rear storage room: the heating system, the leisure battery, the electrical system and two 11kg gas bottles.
A generous 133l absorber refrigerator with AES function is mounted in the middle part of the superstructure, on the driver side of the Regent EB. The door of the fridge can be opened on both sides, which is extremely convenient as it makes the content of the fridge reachable both from the bed and the kitchen! On the opposite side la strada constructed the kitchen and a large wardrobe for clothes on hangers as well as several deep drawers for cooking utensils. The kitchen block features a two-flame hob with piezo ignition and a solid cast-iron pan rest. The hob and sink combination is made out of one single stainless-steel piece and is therefore easy to keep clean.
In the front part of the vehicle, the user will enjoy the seating group, made of an adjustable seating bench and the swiveling cabin seats. The seating bench is equipped with two three-points safety belts; the place close to the window even features the Isofix top-tether system to securely attach a child’s seat. The overhead space above the cabin seats is generous as the bottom of the compartment above the cockpit can be lifted up. This is the perfect place to store the table while driving. The interieur can be individualized with a wide selection of 125 different upholstery and leather varieties.
Two place saving swing-doors separate the bathroom, located opposite from the kitchen, from the living space. A toilet, the washbasin and various compartments are ready for the daily care. The hand shower of the washbasin can be pulled out and fixed to the shower rod. In order to take a shower, the washbasin gets lifted upwards and gets covered, together with the window, by pulling out a shower curtain. A separated large shower cabin is ready to be used once the foldable Plexiglas door is put in place.
If required a curtain can be pulled out to separate the seating group and kitchen from the sleeping area and the bathroom.
