17th June 2024, Echzell – la strada Fahrzeugbau waives the seating bench to make room for lengthwise single beds. Two persons can comfortably travel and sleep in this new developed floor plan. With just 5,93 meters total length, the Regent E is a pleasure to manoeuvre through the streets. The 3,5t total mass get sovereignly powered by a rear-wheel-drive and a 170 or 190 horse power engine. The Regent E is also available as four-wheel-drive. The new Regent E marks a perfectly executed combination of driving and living comfort.
The single beds in the rear are mounted lengthwise and feature great variability. With a length of 1,85 and 2 meters, FROLI single disc springs and high-end cold foam mattresses, the sleeping comfort is guaranteed. The upper part of the two single beds can easily be united into one large surface thanks to a pull-out support and further mattress elements. At the bottom end of the beds, the user has the choice between two options: Option 1 offers storage room for clothing and utensils under the foot end of the beds. Option 2 is the quick and easy conversion into a seating area for two persons. Upholstered elements convert the rear end of each bed into a comfortable seat and a table gets securely fixed in between. Breakfast is served!
If the passengers do not want to convert the sleeping area every day, they might want to sleep crosswise and connect the upper part of the single beds into one large sleeping surface. Owing to the side coachwork enlargements which the Regent E features, the transversal bed still offers a surface of 1,95 by 1,37 meters.
The bedhead can be lifted up on the entire width of the vehicle to ensure more space for bulky luggage in the rear storage room.
A cabinet with drawers is placed in the middle of the rear storage room; the drawers open towards the interior of the van. This cabinet can be taken out of the vehicle if space is needed in the garage.
Furthermore, the on-board technic such as the heating system, the leisure battery and the electrical structure are located in the rear storage room under the beds. A 16 kg gas tank is mounted under the storage room and gets filled from the outside.
Further drawers and compartments for clothes and other equipment can be found under the bed, while a U-shaped upper cabinet offers even more storage above the complete sleeping area.
Connoisseurs will recognize the incorporated washbasin in the washroom from the Regent EB. For hand washing or tooth brushing the washbasin gets folded out, while it perfectly fits back into its wood cladding when the passenger wishes to take a shower. Numerous light strips illuminate the washroom and are separately switchable. The folding door is a new feature and opens the bathroom without obstructing the aisle. A translucent wall panel to the gangway, a Mini-Heki with fly screen and darkening blind as well as an optional window let daylight into the room.
The kitchen block of the Regent E features a novelty as well: the refrigerator is mounted at the headend of the kitchen block and can be opened from both sides. The fridge is in easy reach from both inside and outside of the vehicle! As camping life is spent outside most of the summer time, it is very convenient to take the goods in and out the fridge. The kitchen block furthermore features a 2-burner cooking hob with piezo ignition and a sturdy cast iron pan support. The hob and sink combination is made out of one single stainless-steel piece and is therefore easy to maintain clean.
La strada mounted a compact wardrobe with cloth rail in the front part of the superstructure before the bathroom as well as a sideboard and open compartments above it. The customers can choose if they want to use the seating area in the rear by converting the sleeping area or in the front by turning the driver and passenger seats towards the superstructure, both places feature a holding fixture for the table.
