The dimensions of the la strada Avanti XL are almost the same as those of the sporty Avanti L. Only in height does the XL exceed its little brother by 24 centimetres. The Hessian motorhome manufacturer invests this extra space in a heated double floor. A rare comfort feature in the panel van motorhome class. Despite its compact dimensions of just under six metres in length and just over 2 metres in width, the la strada Avanti XL is a true storage miracle.This is most clearly demonstrated by the large, stable drawer in the rear storage compartment: it can carry up to 50 kilograms of load. Two camping chairs and a camping table find sufficient space here and are thus stowed away cleanly and at the same time accessible at all times. There is still plenty of storage space above for other luggage. For bulky transport tasks, the transverse bed can be partially folded up and frees up space up to the ceiling. In the living area, too, the double floor scores with space for tools, shoes and other utensils. This is ensured by four differently sized flaps in the floor, through which the raised floor is accessible from above. Finally, when the sliding door is open, a large drawer extends under the kitchen block, which can also be used as storage space and an outside table. The warm air from the heating system, which passes through the raised floor, keeps feet warm even on cold days.
The Avanti XL is a fully equipped motorhome for two people. A comfortable double bed at the rear with a Froli disc spring system and a cold foam mattress ensures a restful night's sleep. In front, the compact bathroom with ceramic toilet and washing facilities is accessible via two hinged doors. This space-saving solution opens up the entire front of the bathroom and at the same time increases freedom of movement in the aisle.
Opposite is the kitchen unit. The recessed 2-flame gas stove has a piezo igniter, which makes handling matches or lighters superfluous. A fold-out worktop significantly extends the radius of action in the kitchen. On board is an 80 litre refrigerator, which is located at a convenient height next to the kitchen unit. The pull-outs under the stove and sink provide storage space for pots and pans.
The semidinette is located in the front area. Turning the cab seats creates a seating group for up to four people. The bench seat of the semi-dinette has been completely redeveloped. Equipped with two three-point belts, the rear bench and seat can be pulled in diffenrent positions: With vertical backrest for driving and with reclined backrest and advanced seat for living. The convex shape of the seat back, which adapts to the back, together with the height-adjustable headrests, ensures comfortable sitting in all positions. In the cab, a new upholstery is pulled over the standard seats of the Fiat Ducato. Reinforcements and inlays provide more strength, significantly improved ergonomics and more lateral support. The plastic armrests of the cab seats are also given a pleasant fabric cover.
With its compact dimensions, the la strada Avanti XL can also negotiate narrow bends and narrow roads. The Avanti XL is also fast on the road. This is ensured by the Fiat Ducato's engine: 140 to 180 horsepower are available.
The Avanti XL convinces with its large amount of storage space, compact dimensions and the usual good workmanship quality of la strada.
