For this year’s edition of the CARAVAN SALON in Düsseldorf la strada proudly presents its new layout Avanti EBF. In hall 15 on stand D 26, visitors are welcome to discover the 6,36-metre-long converted Fiat Ducato that offers sleeping places and storage room for four persons. Two single beds in the rear and one double tow-away bed above the dinette cater for best sleeping comfort. A variable garage as well as storage compartments in the heated double floor offer enough space for bulky goods and various utensils. The 140 to 180 HP engines power the 3,5-ton vehicle forward.
The tow-away bed in the front of the vehicle can be lowered down, thanks to two pneumatic springs, onto the sturdy supports mounted on both sides of the furniture. The bed rests steadily and will not wobble around. On the driver side, the bed features a length of 1,75m to the foot end and of 2,00m on the passenger side. The continuous width measures 130 centimetres. A LED reading light is mounted at each side of the top end of the double bed and a roof hood as well as an optional side window provide daylight and fresh air when requested. Two illuminated shelves on the right and left side of the sleeping place are convenient for books, reading glasses, phones or tablets.
Both the tow-away bed as well as the single beds in the rear are equipped with the Froli spring system and top-notch cold foam mattresses. The single beds of the Avanti EBF are arranged lengthwise in the rear of the vehicle and mark a different length of 1,95 m and 1,85 m. In just a few easy steps the beds can be transformed into one large 2 x 2 meters sleeping surface. Underneath the single beds the user will find generous storage room for laundry and other goods, under the left bed clothes can even be hung on hangers. Folded garments get properly stowed under the right-side bed in two huge drawers. Upper cupboards are installed all around the single beds.
A rear garage finds place when transforming the bed. When lifting the rear part of the bed upwards on the entire vehicle width, an elaborated rear storage room, reaching to the ceiling of the van, appears. The space is big enough to load two regular sized bicycles crosswise while there still remains a sleeping place for one person on the second half of the rear bed.
The bathroom is located behind a handy 2-wing door on the driver side right before the single beds. A toilet, a washbasin and an upper cabinet are ready for the daily hygiene. The water tap of the basin can be pulled out and hung to the shower rod. In order to gain more mobility in the rear part of the van, the swing door can remain open. For some privacy a curtain separates the living space and the tow-away bed from the bathroom and the rear sleeping room.
The kitchen area is installed opposite of the bathroom. The kitchen block features a two-flame hob with piezo ignition and a solid cast-iron pan rest. The hob and sink combination is made out of one single stainless-steel piece and is therefore easy to keep clean. An 80-liter absorber refrigerator with automatic energy selection system is mounted on the right side of the sink in a very convenient height. Above and below the fridge la strada mounted storage cabinets with roller blinds as well as large drawers. Further drawers fitted under the hob and sink combination offer easy access to all kind of cooking utensils. When necessary, a foldable working surface enlarges the sphere of action within the kitchen.
The front part of the Avanti accommodates the seating group which features a bench and the turned driver and passenger seats. The seating bench is equipped with two 3-point seat belts and can be adjusted into several positions. On the window seating place, a child seat can be securely fastened thanks to the serial Isofix top-tether fixation system. A large table is mounted at the wall and rests on a table leg in the centre of the living space. The table can be enlarged to the turned passenger seat thanks to a swivelling table plate fixed underneath. Up to four travellers can easily eat or play at the enlarged table.
